¶ Notifications
VR Atlas contains a notification system which notifies users of entities they follow. If you're logged in, you will have the ability to follow events, groups, and other users.
By default, you only receive silent, live notifications while on the website page.
Currently, we support Web Push Notifications, where your browser can receive events pushed by us.
¶ Web Push Notifications
Most desktop browsers and android devices can live receive system-level notifications without you needing to be on the website or having your browser open using Web Push Notifications (Firefox has their own notification system and does not rely on system-level notifications).
To enable them, log into your account, navigate to your profile, and hit Edit.
Under the notification settings, press Enabled Web Push Notifications. A prompt will appear in your browser asking you to enable notifications from the website, which you should press Allow for.
That's it! You should now receive notifications from your OS for anything you follow, without needing to have the website open.
